Insanity

I hated it. I kissed the cross and tasted on my lips unendurable bitterness - it tasted like the sins of mankind. It made sense, but what didn’t make sense is why he wanted us to carry it. Why here, in this world full of snakes and scorpions, hunger and thirst, pain and suffering. We carry yet we know not even where we are going. I hated it. We know nothing, and yet he asks us to trust, we are weak, and yet he asks us to endure. The burden was heavy, and I was deciding on letting go…. But then I saw His blood stained on it. And I remembered Whose it was, and how it was done. Embracing it, I decided to endure. Not knowing where I was going, and not knowing why - I carried the cross and moved along. With a grin I asked myself, what is insanity. With a smile I answered, living.
